percy-jackson-lightning-thief-poster

So remember sitting in your high school history class listening to the teacher bore everyone to death while lecturing on greek mythology, and if your anything like me you’d much rather watch about it than read about it. Now don’t get me wrong it’s most defiantly an intriguing subject, but if my teacher was more like Chris Columbus and the crew at 1492 Pictures I might have stayed awake.

Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief tells the adventure of a teenager Percy Jackson. Half man Half God, Percy discovers he is the descendant form a Greek god Poseidon and must embark on his journey

The Book Of Eli with Trailer

January 8, 2010

bookofeliart

Two time Academy Award winning actor Denzel Washington is a man on fire in The Book Of Eli and from what I hear the 55 year old trained 4 months with martial art experts in preparation for the role. Washington will be playing a fearless and ruthless drifter Eli, who walks across the ruins of America in the in this post apocalyptic adventure. Armed with an arsenal of weapons ranging from a shotgun to a Samari sword Eli kills to protect what some would kill to have, a sacred book that holds the to saving mankind. Along side actors Mila Kunis and Gary Oldman, Washington anticipates the film will share with audiences the spiritual revolution they embarked as Eli embarrasses on his journey across a vile and cold world where one man stands fights not only to save mankind but to defend his virtue.

Director Christopher Nolan, responsible for The Dark Knight and  The Prestige, has yet again come to amaze audiences as he redefines the meaning of having an overactive imagination and sketches out the architecture of the mind. Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe, and Marion Cotillard is a Sci-Fi adventure deep into the mind where the creativity of the imagination becomes powerful enough to reconstruct cities, potent enough to charter change through out the world and in the most dire conditions it has the strength to change the rules.

Inception hits theaters and IMAX July 16, 2010, Be sure to check back as more info is released.

Borat is Back As Bruno w/trailer

April 6, 2009

The star and creator of the political comedy Borat has returned to bring the world Bruno, an superficial Austrian fashion who often talks up heartless fashionists and makes macho men uncomfortable with his blatant homosexuality…

bruno

For those who know anything about Sacha Baron Cohen, he is the genius who brought the world Da Ali G Show. In the show Cohen created 3 fictional characters:

Ali G: a lower-class white male who acts like a Jamaican Londoner and enrages his politically active and powerful guests with stupid questions.

Borat: Kazakhstani TV reporter, who naively searches for porn and outlets for his scatological, accidental humor and anti-Semitism.

Burno: superficial Austrian fashion expert, who often talks up heartless fashionistas and makes macho men uncomfortable with his blatant homosexuality.

Bruno is set to hit theaters July 10, 2009, check out the trailer.

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will be in IMAX 3D

April 3, 2009

The Burton-Depp duo has everyone talking about there latest project Alice in Wonderland, which we can only expect to be extremely weird……but in a good way.

As of late the hype about Burton’s rendition of Alice in Wonderland is that they’ve decided to take things up a notch. Alice is going to Wonderland in IMAX, yeah IMAX….As if that wasn’t enough they’ve decided to let the Mad Hatter run sip his tea in 3D. That’s right, Disney Studios and the IMAX Corporation have come together to bring Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3D.

Honestly, I think the movie will be great without the IMAX experience but having it will take the movie over the top. All and all I’m most definitely going to see this one when it’s hit theaters and IMAX. Both formats of the film are set to release simultaneously, March 5, 2010

X-Men Orgins: Wolverine Review

April 2, 2009

I just check out the new exclusive X-men Origins movie, and for those who haven’t scene it yet..It’s definitely worth a look…This adaptation of the X- men story is the best so far. All the mysteries are finally revealed in this one as director Gaven Hood takes us on a ride thought the haunting and troubling past of Wolverine, explaining everything from his solid antemium core to the origins of his name, and even his unexplainable memory loss. As if answering all the cliffhanging questions about Wolverine wasn’t enough, Hood managed to intertwine the past of Wolverine with that of other mutants such as Sabertooth, Gambit, Night Crawler, Deadpool, Beak, Blob, and even Cyclops.

In the movie, Wolverine is living life as regular as possible despite his mutant abnormalities. Along side his brother (Victor Creed) Wolverine leaves the protection of his family and home to life a better life more suitable for people of their kind, a life of blood and killing. Wolverine and brother, both having similar mutant powers, place their slash marks through out history as they fought in countless wars, spilling blood from The Civil War to the second World War. But even war couldn’t keep the animals roaming inside them contained, eventually they were recruited by a special military operation headed by William Stryker, that required the special abilities of certain mutants. Warn out by all the killing and bloodshed Wolverine gives up his life of violence to live out his days in a more peaceful way. Unaware of his girlfriends telepathic ability, he was manipulated into participating in a program called Mutant X program. A program designed to genetically produce a mutants with multiple strengths but none of the personality weaknesses, the perfect solider to combat the mutant infestation.

X-men Origins: Wolverine is the complete package have equally impressive acting and CG effects. Even the supporting actors played there role like they were trying to win oscars. The cast includes actors: Hugh Jackman , Will i Am, Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber, Lynn Collins, Taylor Kitsch, Daniel Henny, Kevin Durand and more. Overall, this movie is hands down is one of the best so far this year. X- men Origins is set to hit theaters May 1, 2009. Be sure to check it out.

Marvel Is Hiring Writers!!

March 27, 2009

Marvel Entertainment is readying to assemble a group of writers who will pen scripts for various properties Marvel wants to develop, reports.

Marvel will invite up to five writers each year to work on specific projects. Those could include staffers behind Marvel’s comic books.

The trade adds that the company will provide the specific pitches it wants the writers to tackle. Those could involve certain plot points for movies already in development or characters it would like to see in its future film slate.

The gathering of screenwriters will help Marvel come up with creative ways to launch its lesser-known properties, such as Black Panther, Cable, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Nighthawk and Vision.

Source: Variety

So far, it has focused its efforts on more popular superheroes like Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America.

A group of Marvel executives will choose the writers, with the final decision made by Kevin Feige, Marvel Studio’s president of production.

Terms call for Marvel to own whatever the writers work on during the year. Company has the option to continue a relationship with the writers after that period.
